I hope for 2017 great rides and long trips with my group of friends.  We are very keen to put our motorcycles on the road this year, as much as possible.

Me and Theresa sideway with our friend Marinho, morning of the 8th of January, 2017.

On the 8th of January, 2017 we did our first ride of the year.  The day was very hot, but in spite of that we rode 330 kilometers on the following traject: Goiânia - Aragoiânia - Cromínia - Edealina - Edéia - Indiara - Goiânia; with a comfortable stop at Casarão Restaurant, located close to Indiara at the margin of BR-060 road.

Some photos of this ride are available at the following link:

On the 20th of January, 2017 me and Theresa went to Rio Verde - GO; we came back to Goiânia - GO on the 22th of January, 2017. In reality, we rode under a heavy rain from Casarão Restaurant until Rio Verde - GO, and on Sunday when we returned to Goiânia - GO we faced a rainy day as well. The road was busy with traffic of cars and trucks.

There was some time already that we intended to return to the Museu Rodas do Tempo (Wheels of Time Museum) in Pirenópolis - GO, where we had been for the first time on the 14th of November, 2010. For this purpose we left Goiânia - GO on the morning of the 5th of February, 2017 heading to Pirenópolis - GO, via Abadiânia - GO.

This ride totalled around 290 km ridden on a cloudy and sometimes rainy day.  Despite of that prevailed the wonderful sensation of being riding our bikes and enjoying the day. And in reality this is what matters!

Trip to Capitólio - MG, Barra Bonita - SP and Peirópolis (Uberaba - MG) - Carnival 2017

On the 24th of February, 2017 we left Goiânia - GO heading to Passos - MG, where we spent our first overnight of the trip to the region of Capitólio - MG. The canyons and the scarps around the Lake of Furnas (Sea of Minas) enrich the view and allow us to enjoy a leisure focused on the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The motor-boats, river barges, jet-skis and such move the local tourism industry, and offer numerous leisure options to the tourists demanding the region.

On the sequel of our trip we went to Barra Bonita - SP, where we took a very nice boat ride (with lunch onboard).  During this ride we could observe the functioning of the lock (floodgate) attached to the dam of the Tietê Power Plant. This lock, as part of the Tietê-Paraná Waterway, allows the navigation across the dam to passengers and cargo boats.

Barra Bonita - SP as well as Igaraçú do Tietê - SP on the opposite margin of the Tietê river offer numerous fluvial leisure activities.  The region is beautiful and the river has clear and clean waters and is abundant of fish; due to that the place has an enourmous bird population, specially herons and cormorants. Definitely this is a beautiful spectacle of Mother Nature!

During our return to Goiânia - GO we paid a visit to the rural suburb of Peirópolis, at the surroundings of Uberaba - MG, where I could get to know the Paleontological Museum of the Federal University of the Triangulo Mineiro. There they develop a world class research on pre-historic fossil, mainly dinossaurs:

We arrived in Goiânia - GO at the afternoon of the 28th of February, 2017. This was another top trip organized by my friend Mauro Gomes, who has familiarity with all the places we had been. For me this was another great opportunity to put my motorcycle on the road again, having the company of friends and doing a pleasant and very rewarding trip.

My Sundown STX Motard covered 2.114 km and yielded a wonderful result concerning fuel consumption: around 33,31 km/litre.  This is quite an achievement for an engine that clocked 78.550 km already.

On the 12th of March, 2017 we did a ride to the Restaurante Casarão by the road BR-060, and Mauro Gomes has published a page with photos of this meeting of friends.

Has come the time to say goodbye to my valiant Sundown STX Motard 200cc. On the 20th of April, 2017 I delivered it to its new owner, who will be riding it around the region of Nova Xavantina - MT. Nine years went by fast, during this period I did memorable rides and trips with this motorcycle - solo and with groups of friends.  Everything is carefully described on the previous pages I have published about this bike.

Over this period of nine years I travelled intensively on the many Brazilian Regions. I will keep very good vibes with me concerning this period that I stayed riding this motorcycle. From now on I will be riding and publishing new adventures with my current bike: Yamaha Ténéré Blueflex 250cc (year and model 2017), accordingly the above link at the upper right side of this page.
