Apr/2007 ... Self-employed as a Consultant for a group of Medical Doctors. Optimizing the utilization of software controlling the daily operation of clinics providing Computed tomography (CT), Ultrasonography and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams, in three hospitals.
Jul/2002 - Jan/2003 ... Teacher of FASAM - undergraduate courses - teaching Computing for the B.A. in Journalism, and Applied Computing for the B.A. in Advertising & Direct Marketing.
Nov/2000 - Nov/2002 ... Responsible for the Computing Department of the College of Letters / Federal University of Goias (UFG). Maintenance of the College's computers (61 computers, a server running on Unix/OpenWindows and a router running on Linux), and other hardware (32 deskjet printers, 2 laser printers and 7 scanners), LAN administration, training for staff, teachers and students attending the Masters degree program. Maintenance of the College's site - (www.letras.ufg.br) - on the Internet. Deploying new software, upgrading equipment and virus protection routines usually developed as part of my normal duties.
Jul/94 - Oct/2000 ... Self-employed as a Computing Teacher offering private tuition to people for industry standard computer software packages. Attendees ranged from teenagers to third agers. Using a method that I developed I was able to build students confidence, speeding the learning process, offering a solid knowledge of Operating Systems (DOS/Win.x and Win 95/98), Microsoft Office, utils in DOS and Win 95, Win 3.x, Paint Shop Pro, Scenerio Arts&Letters, FrontPage, Internet Assistant for Word, Internet Explorer, Internet navigation and Internet targeted research and simplified HTML.
I specialize in intensive courses to professionals such as Medical Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Teachers, Psychologists, and people needing to learn in a short period of time. The teaching materials I have developed (albums of slides, interactive step by step manuals, compressed *.avi files, CBT's based on HTML, and Internet style pages) provide to students solid steps towards computer literacy. I have been able to impart a solid grasp of Win 95 and its utils, Word, Excel, Paint/Paintbrush, Cardfile, Internet navigation and basic PC maintenance (Scandisk, Defrag and Virus detection and avoidance) normally within a period of 18 (eighteen) hours of tuition.
Design, construction and maintenance of an Internet site http://www.caldas.com.br/index01.html This site offers useful and general information on the city of Caldas Novas - GO - Brazil, and the Hot Waters Region. This is our contribution to the city where my family and I lived for a period of time, targeting the significant tourist demand. Our site has been link #1 at Google when searching for "caldas novas" for the last three years.
Computer "fine tuning" technician (Desktop Maintenance ) performing optimization of hardware using specific software (MagnaRam, SoftRam, Hurricane) in conjunction with other "tricks" I have developed, such as logical clocking calibration and other BIOS procedures. Platform migration/upgrading (from Win.x to Win 95/98) without formatting the HD and with minimum conflict with existing software/hardware. In this particular respect I have been a "first hour" user of all the main releases of Microsoft (Office in many versions, Camcorder, suite Internet Explorer, Windows 95 and 98 beta, etc.).
Installation and testing of software, including beta and final versions, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Eudora, Outlook Express, Norton Anti-virus, Paint Shop Pro. Configuration of software, including trouble shooting procedures to assure minimum conflict and/or conflict solution. Upgrading of software such as Microsoft Word - via Internet downloading - allowing the incorporation of new functions like Internet Assistant for Word, rehabilitating the software to work with HTML files.
Installation and testing of hardware such as video cards, modems, memory chips, deskjet printers and other peripherals, not only for my personal use in my computers, but for third parties.
Upgrading of OS in old laptops, migrating from the DOS&Win 3.xx combination to Win 95. Optimization of HD free space via Doublespace.
1992/1993 Data collection (Census Collector) for the 1992 Australian Census. The data results and analysis were presented for the first time on CD-ROM, pioneering this media within government organizations in Australia as a viable storage device for large amounts of information.
Market research and business prospecting to put Brazilian products in the Australian market. Typical products were: manufactured rubber products to the tire industry, women shoes, and processed food.
1991 Information Services Officer with the Queensland Small Business Corporation (QSBC), doing economic research of relevant issues for small businesses in Australia. Responsible for the research, collection and handling of information; the making and distribution of a fortnightly Issues Bulletin, production of bulletins covering new legislation affecting small businesses in Australia. Liaison with and evaluation of overall performance of small businesses participating in the "Main Street Project", an initiative to revitalize business in old business districts of small towns.

1988/1989 Final steps in the process of immigration to Australia. State Sales Supervisor for PROMAX/BARDAHL for State of Parana in Brazil. Bardahl is a vehicle and machines special oils company. I was responsible for the management of sales staff, the planning and evaluation of sales policy and determining sales campaigns. Promax/Bardahl is the largest company in this field in Brazil.
